Instrumental music

"This is the kind of music that wind bands ought to be playing... Thank you for writing such beautiful music"

Joseph Dobos, Conductor, Wayne State University Concert Band

Aaron has written a variety of concert music for instrumental ensembles and solo instruments: this includes an upcoming EP of music in a classical style for piano (of which the 'Fantasia' featured on this page will be a part).

In 2017 Aaron was the winner of the inaugural Oxford University Music Society Composition Competition, leading to the premiere of his orchestral work 'Divergence' by the Oxford University Sinfonietta. In the same time period he was commissioned by the Wayne State University Concert Band to arrange his SATB setting of the carol 'O Magnum Mysterium' for concert band. More recently two of his works were commissioned and performed by the School Orchestra and String Orchestra at Bloxham School. Aaron’s music has also been performed by the orchestra of Hertford College, Oxford. His work spans orchestral, chamber music and solo genres.

Aaron is well accustomed to instrumental mediums. As a keen solo performer on the piano, flute, and organ he has given recitals and concerto performances in Oxford, Cheltenham and Malvern; he also regularly acts as accompanist for recitals. He has played in many ensembles including the Oxford University Philharmonia, the Oxford University Wind Orchestra and the Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra.
